Never Be Embarrassed to Show Your Smile with Dental Implants
If you are missing one or more teeth and you want to replace them, dental implants are one of the best tooth replacement options. Implants can provide you with a permanently beautiful smile that you have been missing out on. The team at Dr. Fred Thompson’s office is ready to help you make the right decision regarding your teeth and the health of your mouth. When you come in for a consultation, you and one of our dentists will go over the different dental implant options available, and we will make recommendations based on your situation.
Benefits of Dental Implants
Implants are permanent tooth replacement options. They will help restore your jawbone that has been deteriorating due to your missing teeth and the inability to chew properly. Implants can restore your chewing forces to 90 percent of that of natural teeth, and they can also allow you to speak without any trouble. In addition, they will provide structure to your lower face, preventing you from aging prematurely.
Types of Dental Implants We Offer
Dr. Fred Thompson, a qualified implant dentist in Dallas, offers a variety of implant types, including:
- Traditional dental implants
- Mini implants for those lacking required bone structure for traditional full-size implants (requires only minimally invasive surgery)
- Single and full implants
- All on Four implants, using only four strategically placed implants to support full dentures
- All on Six implants, using only six strategically placed implants to support full dentures
- Implant-retained dentures, using a bar that attaches to implants to secure dentures
- Implant-supported dentures, using implants that attach directly to dentures
- Immediate implant placement
Dental Implant Procedure
If you are missing all or almost all of your teeth, we will begin by extracting any additional or damaged teeth, depending on your needs. Our immediate dentures and same-day placement options allow the implants to be surgically inserted into your jawbone right after the extractions. This procedure is ideal for people who want to avoid a mouth without teeth while the extraction sites are healing. With our same-day implants in Dallas, you can walk out of our office with a new set of teeth!
If you are not having immediate implants and your teeth have already been extracted, or if you need to replace only some of your missing teeth, we will begin by carefully implanting titanium posts in place of your missing teeth. The posts act as anchors to replace missing roots in your jaw. The implants prevent bone loss and help prevent your jaw from shrinking.
Once the posts are in place and the jawbone is healed over the course of a few months, Dr. Thompson will place crowns or bridges on top of the posts to provide you with a natural-looking smile. If you need all of your teeth to be replaced in your upper or lower jaw, we can affix dentures to the top of the implants instead.
Have You Lost Too Much Bone?
If you have lost too much bone in your jaw, if your upper jaw structure cannot support implants, or your mouth is not healthy enough for dental implants, Dr. Thompson can help prepare your mouth for implants. We offer gum grafting, bone grafting, and sinus lifts to ensure your mouth is ready for dental implants.
If you are interested in any of our dental implant procedures, come in for a consultation. We will answer all of your questions and address your concerns. Each dentist has extensive experience in implants to provide you with the care you need. Dr. Thompson alone has placed and restored more than 7,500 implants in house, using his advanced training from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Board of Oral Implantology, and the Misch International Implant Institute.
