Conquer Your Fears of the Dentist with Our Help

However, it is important for you to have regular dental cleanings and exams to ensure your teeth and gums are healthy. A strong fear of the dentist could keep you away, and you may develop gum disease, tooth decay, or even oral cancer. Don’t put your health at risk and come to Dr. Fred Thompson’s office today.
Relieve Your Fear Through Sedation Dentistry in Dallas, TX
Dr. Fred Thompson DDS is proud to offer you dental sedation options to help alleviate the fear you are experiencing. Sedation dentistry is considered safe and effective as it allows you to relax while your dentist performs the dental work you need.
When you come in for a consultation, we will go over the different sedation options with you. The most common form of sedation is nitrous oxide. The gas is administered to you in controlled amounts through a small mask that is placed over your nose. Your dentist monitors the amount of gas you receive to ensure you remain sedated throughout your treatment. This type of sedation is ideal for those with a mild to moderate level of anxiety. You will be awake during the procedure, but you will remain relaxed and at ease from your fear.
We also offer oral sedation, which is ideal for someone with moderate to severe anxiety. It is also convenient for those who would like to complete longer procedures or many procedures in one or two visits. You will be given a pill before your appointment to help sedate you and calm you throughout the dental procedure. Most patients remain awake, and your vitals will be monitored by a trained professional at all times.
Relax With Our Comfort Options
We provide you with a variety of comfort options to help ease your dental anxiety. These include blankets, pillows, music, and complimentary beverages in the waiting room. We offer longer appointments so that you do not feel rushed and can discuss all of your concerns with the dentist. In addition, all of our surgical and exam rooms are private, so you do not have to fear sitting next to someone else or being overheard.
Dr. Thompson and Dr. Le truly care about your dental experience and want to make it the best possible. Don’t hesitate to express your concerns or fears with us – we will listen!
